Nomago, a Bus Operator in Slovenia, implemented Transit Management Platform with IOT
Nomago is one of the largest bus operators in the CEE region in Europe, having more than 1,000 employees and over 700 vehicles in operation across 30 locations in Slovenia, Croatia, and Northern Italy. Nomago operates 5 main business lines: Regional Public Transport, InterCity, Charter, City & Micro Mobility, and Travel.
Over the year, the company brought together 12 different bus operators and travel agencies. After the acquisition, Nomago faced the challenge of consolidating, modernizing, and streamlining 12 different bus operations across Central and Eastern Europe.
With the help of LIT Transit, Nomago now runs its fleet operations with one transit management platform. A set of IoT devices were installed on the city and regional buses, including onboard units with GNSS, IMU, and connectivity to CAN-BUS, announcement systems, and passenger counters. The data from these devices feed into the same open platform and is comprehensively visualized in order to improve operations performance and raise customer satisfaction. The vehicle location data is also used to calculate accurate journey time prediction using machine learning that is displayed in real-time on connected displays.
