TMB Barcelona used Autonomous Robots with UVC to disinfect Trains
Ultraviolet light is lethal to viruses, but it also hurts people, which is why it is applied by fully autonomous robots Metro Barcelona (TMB) has started a PoC to improve disinfection of rolling stock and stations with fully autonomous collaborative robots (AMR) and ultraviolet light (UVC-254nm).
After being trained these robots are totally autonomous so that they can perform missions skipping obstacles on their own. This boosts disinfection productivity taking roughly 20 minutes per 90m train (and ready for immediate service). Biological tests were carried out to evaluate performance.
