RTC Quebec launched “Bus + Car Sharing” package as first step towards MaaS

The Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) operates public transportation in Quebec City, Canada, with 563 vehicles and 4,223 daily departures. In May 2020, RTC introduced a mobile payment application, RTC Nomade payment, to enable payment via the mobile application. RTC has partnered with Communauto to introduce the “Bus + Carsharing” monthly package in January 2022 as part of a “potential one-stop-shop.” The “Bus + Carsharing” package includes the RTC’s General monthly pass and 10 FLEX Communauto trips lasting 30 minutes.

In 2017, RTC unveiled RTC’s 2018-2027 Strategic Plan, focusing on the deployment of integrated mobility puts the customer at the heart of decisions and making it possible to adapt the offer to their needs to better meet them. The riders can purchase the pass on the RTC Nomade payment mobile application for the following month, from the 16th day of the current month. It can also be purchased for the current month, until the 15th day of the month. For example, the rider can purchase the pass for March 2022 from 16 February 2022 onwards.

The package offers 10 FLEX trips, i.e. 10 trips from point A to point B, starting and ending in the Communauto FLEX service area, with a vehicle without reservation. The first 30 minutes of each trip are included in the package. Additional minutes will be billed.
