Asset under management – ~$350 million with a portfolio of 15+ investments. The new fund (Multi limited-partner Fund EX1) focuses on both European and North American-based energy-transformation startups in Seed and Series A stages.

Thesis

Investment thesis: Focusing on sustainability and startups which are creating a big impact. The fund has set three criteria for selecting a venture:

  1. The startup has the potential to yield high financial returns
  2. The startup offer value and synergistic effect connecting to TDK’s long-term strategy and their potential to steer us toward growth
  3. The startup can contribute to a better, more sustainable future through innovation.

TDK Ventures invests in companies with the potential to become world leaders in major markets in 5–10 years’ time.
