Moscow will be testing its MaaS application soon
Moscow’s Department of Transport (DoT) is planning to test its MaaS (Mobility as a Service) platform – MultiTransport. The subscription platform will integrate different mobility operators providing transportation services into a single digital ecosystem with multimodal trips. In the first phase, the riders can book all 7 types of public transport (metro, monorail, buses, ground transport) and taxis. VTB Bank will provide IT technologies for the implementation of this project and for mutual settlements between services.
Users will be able to buy three different 30-day subscriptions that cover unlimited public transit trips, combined with a certain number of taxi rides to and from stations.
Plan | Price | Public transport trips | Yandex Go Rides* |
Multitransport Mini | 2,999 rubles | Unlimited (Central Zone) | 05 taxi rides |
Multitransport Standard | 3,999 rubles | Unlimited (Central Zone) | 10 taxi rides |
Multitransport Max | 5,999 rubles | Unlimited (Central Zone) | 20 taxi rides |
* A taxi ride on the “Multitransport” should not cost more than 600 rubles and its length is no more than 5 km
Anyone can take part in the testing, but the number of participants at the first stage will be limited – only 7,000 people. The riders can register online if they want to take part in testing a subscription (MultiTransport website) by specifying the title, telephone number, and smartphone type.
“Multitransport” will be useful for passengers who use public transport, but sometimes choose a taxi. With a subscription, passengers will be able to save up to 10% of the money on paying for travel monthly.
